They derived it from a symbol used by alchemists for lead and Saturn.

All of Moorcock’s “universes” exist within the same fictional multiverse. the Eternal Champion is a hero who exists in each and every universe, dimension and time. Elric of Melnibone is but one aspect of the Champion, and so are many of Moorcocks other heroes from other universes, such as Corum and Erekose.
Blue Oyster Cult wrote several songs based upon, and Moorcock himself wrote lyrics for some of their songs, this one included.
Sorry if you already knew all this crap, lol.

I think that was stated officially. I think Black Blade and Shadow Warrior are for other Moorcock universe. Or am I wrong?

Nor did I imply such.
It’s just that people seem to be discussing whether or not it’s about Elric or another Moorcock creation, so it’s logical it could be about the Eternal Champion.

I dont think I have said otherwise.

It represents Kronos, King of the Titans, the god Saturn, and is the alchemical symbol of lead.

As I understand it, all of Michael Moorcock’s major characters are reincarnations of one another. They comproise an ‘Eternal Champion’ cycle, which this song is about. It’s not about any specific Moorcock hero, but about ALL of them.

According to Wikipedia its about Elric. But Wiki isnt that good of a source.

@Cheetahcabra
Are you SURE it’s not about Jerry Cornelius?
That’s another of Moorcock’s characters, and it would fit him better.
